One-of-a-Kind, Just Like a Person
Herbert Rieger is one of the few people, who are still proficient in the art of pinfeather embroidery today. Using a special procedure the quill of a peacock's feather is split, in order to get the beautiful ivory-colored threads. Then the leather is marked with the pattern or drawing: Ornaments and decorations, pictures of animals, names, tools, flowers, landscapes - there is no limit on creative expressions. Holes are punched with a pricker, exact to the tenth of a milimeter, then the thread is pulled through. This requires craftmanship and perfect artistic ability. |
The results of this highly detailed work are unique items, which are impressive and delicate and accentuate the individual style and expression of personality. This can be a keyring pendant decorated with a monogram, a personal wallet, a precious wedding album or a beautiful belt. |
Herbert Rieger has been active in this handicraft for more than 30 years, he has been in business as a pinfeather embroiderer for almost 20 years. Winning the British Airline competition "We connect the cultures of the world" in 1996 (one of his exhibits was subsequently copied to the empennages of five passenger planes of the German BA) is proof, that he belongs to the best in his guild. In addition many public orders by District Offices and the Bavarian State Chancellery top his impressive list of references. |
